Our classes are meant to INSPIRE curious movement
and self-inquiry within a supportive environment.
Beginners
Beginner’s Foundation ~ Focused on students who are new to yoga, returning to their practice, or simply want to refine some aspects of their practice. Introduction to poses (asanas), breath (pranayama), props (support), and meditation (relaxation). Teachers offer detailed instruction and simple sequences that allow you to build your yoga practice.
Gentle
A relaxed and accessible style of yoga that emphasizes slow movements, basic poses, and a focus on breathing. Suitable for beginners or anyone seeking a less intense practice.
Gentle ~ A balanced offering of effort and ease with slower pacing for every level of student. These classes may include offerings based on Hatha, Vinyasa, Somatic, and Restorative Yoga. Emphasis on breathing and quiet reflection allows us to come away feeling flexible in our bodies, relaxed in our minds, and calmed in our nervous systems.
Yin ~ Yin Yoga is a slow-paced style of yoga that involves holding passive poses for an extended period, typically 3 to 5 minutes or more. It focuses on stretching and deepening the connective tissues, such as ligaments, joints, and fascia, to improve flexibility and promote relaxation. Yin Yoga is meditative, encouraging mindfulness and stillness.
Prenatal Yoga - A gentle exercise practice combining breathing, stretching, and meditation specifically designed for pregnant women. It helps reduce pregnancy discomfort, improves flexibility, builds strength for labor, and promotes relaxation. Modifications ensure safety for both mother and baby. This is a 45-minute class.
Vinyasa
A dynamic and fluid style of yoga that links breath with movement. Poses flow smoothly into one another, creating a rhythmic and meditative practice. Teachers are focused on helping students build and progress in their yoga practice.
Vinyasa ~ Flow between postures using synchronized movement with breath, building strength and stamina, Vinyasa classes borrow from diverse influences, including Ashtanga, Hatha, and Power Yoga. These practices are more challenging than our Gentle classes, but options are provided to make these classes accessible to all levels of practitioners
Ashtanga Vinyasa ~ A one-hour vinyasa flow inspired by the traditional Ashtanga primary series. The flow includes Sun Salutations, standing postures, seated poses, and traditional closing postures. Focus is on building the foundations of an Ashtanga practice including breath, alignment, drishti, and bandhas. Builds strength and stamina for the Ashtanga Full Led Primary.
Ashtanga Full Led Primary ~ The primary series is known as Yoga Chikitsa, which means “yoga therapy,” as it is designed to detoxify and purify the body, mind, and spirit. The primary series is a challenging and dynamic practice that focuses on building strength, flexibility, and stamina. It is a set sequence of poses in a prescribed order, including breath work and points of attention. Ashtanga is an energy-building practice designed to become a moving meditation with practice.
Wall Yoga
The yoga wall is a wall-mounted adjustable strap system that facilitates more ease and versatility in hundreds of yoga poses (asanas). It creates support and accessibility for inversions, backbends, therapeutics, and standing poses; allowing you to explore alignment and avoid excess strain. Challenge your strength, flexibility, and mobility in introductory poses or fine-tune more complex asanas. Come learn more about your body and have fun! Wall classes accommodate all levels.
Our Shala is an open invitation to step inside, go a little deeper, challenge yourself and have some fun!
