Description:
Yoga Nidra is derived from two Sanskrit words, yoga meaning yolk/union, and nidra meaning sleep. During yoga nidra, one appears to be asleep, but the consciousness functions at a deeper level of awareness. Yoga Nidra is a process by which one can travel from the conscious to the unconscious through the subconscious, planting seeds for positive change. Yoga Nidra is a Pratyahara practice where one withdraws awareness from external sources. Much like guided Savasana, the experience is received in such a way the body is relaxed, and the mind is clear, open to receive seeds to be planted and fertilized in the subconscious.
Please arrive 10-15 minutes before start of class. Wear comfortable clothes and bring anything that will make you comfortable - a mat, blanket, or eye pillow. We also have mats, blankets, and bolsters here at the shala for your use.
