A Fall kitchari cleanse is a gentle way to reset the body and mind, especially as the season transitions into autumn. While we work through Transcending the Lower Egos, we explore techniques associated with the Anja and Sahasrara Chakra, bringing greater awareness to our body and spirit.

Yoga practice focused on hip opening on the mat and yoga wall: building strength and flexibility. Part II will utilize the Yoga Wall to target hips.

Yoga Lab ~ Ayurvedic Yoga Practice w/ DeAnna
Ayurveda, the sister science to Yoga, is based on the principle that macrocosm affects microcosm and is reflected in the Pancha Mahabhutas, the Five Elements, which are the building blocks of the universe. These are Earth, Water, Fire, Air, and Ether and they exist in every manifestation of living matter and form. The universal law “as within, so without” means that everything within us is also a reflection of what is outside of us. This practice will explore asana, pranayama, and mantra, exploring how we can increase or decrease these elements, for greater balance of body and mind.

The majority of us have an over-active sympathetic nervous system, living in a near continual state of flight, fight, or freeze. This practice will highlight how asana and pranayama can shift the nervous system to a more para-sympathetic state, calming your nervous system and bringing your mind-body network into a state of balance. We will close out our practice with Loving- Kindness or Metta Mediation, bringing not only peace of mind but connection to others, as a collective consciousness.
